The 3rd Regenerative Viticulture Conference will dig into the microbiology of agricultural soils, a topic that is relatively unknown, and its importance for a resilient viticulture to tackle climate threats. After exposing the bases and main practices of regenerative viticulture in the two previous editions, this third conference will focus on the role of microbiology and both, plant and animal, biodiversity in the regeneration of wine-growing soils thanks to the participation (in person and virtual) from leading experts in this field.
SOIL MICROBIOLOGY: KEY TO A RESILIENT VITICULTURE
Tuesday, May 16, 2023

Lydia & Claude Bourguignon
Soil microbiologists and founders of the Soil Microbiological Analysis Laboratory (LAMS). They study, experiment and analyze soils to better understand the main wine terroirs. Lydia and Claude were engineers at INRA (National Institute of Agricultural Research, France) before founding their laboratory and agronomic consultancy, and they were among the first to warn about rapid soil degradation.

Rosa Vercher
PhD in Agricultural Engineering and expert in pest ecology and biological control. She is a reference in research in agroecological techniques for sustainable pest management. Rosa initiated this type of studies, pioneers in Spain, in 2006, and has participated in several projects that have implemented agroecological techniques in citrus, vine, persimmon and horticultural crops, such as the use of vegetation covers and other ecological structures that improve pest management.
